This small, delicate white heron has a slender black bill, black legs, and yellow feet. They prefer salt marshes, ponds, swamps, and mudflats. Snowy egrets feed by sprinting through shallow water and plucking out of the water the schools of minnows and shrimp that they have frightened. |
