Hermit Crab (Pagarus longicarpus) These small crabs (about 1" in length) are always on the lookout for a new shell to live in. Hermit crabs don't grow the shells themselves but pick up the shell of a dead gastropod. Hermit crabs wrap their uropod around the inside whorl of the shell so you can't pull them out. |
