That group over there has sighted something in the cordgrass. Let's walk over there and see what they are looking at in their binoculars.
Wasn't that a beautiful sight? These magnificent herons live on frogs, fish, and crayfish. And according to our field guide, they have been known to even eat snakes. Our government has put the Great Egret on its protected species list because their habitats are in danger due to the draining of wetlands in many areas.
