"The red globes are floats that allow the gates below them to open and close depending on the rise and fall of the tides. In this way, we can control the amount of flooding to this unhealthy area. Because there are homes built on the fringe of the unhealthy marsh, we have to keep those families from getting too much water into their backyards."
